Felipe W. Chaves-Silva
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), Brazil.
I received my Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics (BCAM) in October 2014, under the supervision of Enrique Zuazua. My doctoral thesis can be found here.
After completing my Ph.D., I held a postdoctoral position at the Laboratoire J.A. Dieudonné, Université Côte d'Azur, in Nice, France, under the supervision of Gilles Lebeau. From July 2016 to August 2018, I was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), Brazil.
My research interests include the control and stabilization of linear and nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs), with a particular emphasis on controllability, spectral methods, Carleman estimates, and microlocal analysis.
